Addition Fun

In my classroom I have 6 brand new computers and a smart board. So I love to go and surf the web for exciting/interactive games for my students to play. One that I have found is an addition one. The students like to play the panda or penguin one the most because after answering so many correct they get to play a fun little game. I like to pull the game up on the smart board and have my group work together and try to solve problems as a group.

Here is the link to the addition website:

Keyboarding Fun

This year was my first year to teach keyboarding to a group of students. I get to teach keyboarding to Kindergarten and 1st graders....I was so nervous at first, but I found neat websites that helped students how to type and they were all interactive ones! The lab I am in for keyboarding doesn't have speakers. I was very bummed about this because the sound could really help them even more with their typing.

Here is a link that I use for my keyboarding class:

Dolch Sight Words

Here is a neat/interactive website for children to play on while they learn their basic sight words. Hope this can help someone out there!

I use this website daily in my classroom.

Welcome to Mrs. W's Classroom

I thought I would try to start up another blog that deals strictly with the education world. It will vary from tips, ideas, websites, etc. I hope that someone can find it useful to use in their own classroom or at home with your child!
